“What is a Challenge Workshop?”
A Challenge workshop is an opportunity for children requiring or desiring extra challenge to learn about something beyond what we typically have in the BBIS curriculum. The workshops will be offered during the school day over several weeks on a wide variety of topics. The workshops will be led by exciting professionals in the community with special talents they want to share with young people.
The workshop’s focus will be on 3D CAD (Computer Aided Design). Over the 8 weeks, students would be introduced to the basic elements/building blocks of 3D CAD and how it is used in architecture, engineering and game design. Students will have modeled and created an animation by the end of the course. The topics and activities will include:
3 D Modelling
Design Cycle
Computer aided design with SketchUp
Create an animation or physical construction of a small- hole bird house, and other possible building projects
